I can explain to you how to make a good cash payment in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is known for its national currency the colón (Costa Rica Colone), though US $ is quite popular. What it is advisable to know about Costa Rica is to check the car rentals and hire rates carefully. Costa Rica's drivers must carry a third-party liability policy. This can't be done using an insurance company like most of the country. Check the policy if there is any possibility. While Costa Rica has been known for its safety, pickpocketing and petty theft are still common. Apply common sense to avoid loss of possession. Don't put anything in parked cars. Do not leave bags unprotected and, when you're not lucky, tell the police. Continuing on.

09. 4-Wheel Drive and the Roads Costa Rica

You may have come across someone who said you had to get the four wheeler. This is a fact that is always true but this varies depending on your trip season. We really weren't going to want 4-wheel drive. When we arrived in Monteverde, it became evident that this is necessary when we arrived in Monteverdes. Generally speaking, a visit during rain season will make you safer than sorry. Several streets are gravel with lots of potholes. Alternatively the road is sometimes quite narrow in a lot of rural areas. In San Jose, our trip was smooth.

Another item I’m glad I packed – hiking shoes! It can be hard to find room inside a suitcase with so few amazing hiking trails in the area. Even short hikes to Montezuma Falls at Santa Teresa required some grippy footwear. At one point my shoe fell out near the waterfall, but almost fell massively. Merrel walking shoes were immediately removed. Those paths and paths are not always kept and as clean as you could hope and therefore bringing good shoes would be a good choice! 21. Pack More than Just Beach Clothes

Unless you plan to go all the way down the coast, you'll probably need more than beachwear. This is especially true if you are planning to visit Monteverde where the temperatures are very cooler due to elevation and altitude. A good hiking shoe and athletic clothes are also good choices for hiking. I prefer shorter pants (bugs) but some trails are extremely muddy so hiking shoes are really useful. Pack a light sweater with a longer sleeve shirt perfect for evening trips - pants/leggings / sneakers / hiking shoes - good for any hike.

26. Manuel Antonio National Park Tip

The guide is a perfect travel guide to Costa Rica! It's among the most famous national parks in Costa Rica and not necessarily the best-known. It's a popular destination. This caused tourism traps to emerge. On road trips to this place people wear what appear to be “official” vests telling you to park in the parking areas. They're usually aggressive in their decline. Employees work under the supervision of a professional. Often parking spaces can be far from entrances. Take the car and drive through the gate of the park.
