South America includes ten countries and the most biodiverse country on Earth, Brazil. Colombia ranks fourth among countries for the highest biodiversity. 06. Santa Marta, Colombia

07. Christ the Redeemer statue, Brazil
The vacation of Brazil should be filled with its most emblematic monuments and the most famous attractions of Rio: the Christ the Redeemer statue completed in 1930. Even though the temple is Christian, it has been regarded by many as a universal symbol.
The 98 foot tall statue features horizontally extended arms spanning 92 feet. Ciudad Perdida is considered one of the “lost cities” in the Sierra Nevada de Marta Range in Colombia. Built in 660 AD by a population of Tairona and abandoned after being looted in 1615 by Spanish conquerors, the town lay hidden by an encroaching forest until the 1980's.
Unlike Machu Picchu in architectural details, the Lost Village is a more daunting challenge. A five-day, 40-kilometer hike reaches remote and rarely-visited jungles and takes you through dense forests.
